Army Wives

Well I am not an Army Wife no longer but my girlfriend sent this to me and it really spoke to me and not everyone understands what its like to be an "army" wife..but this helps....so if you have a few minutes please ready it....

I am an army wife. A member of that sisterhood of women who have had the courage to watch their men serve, and the strength to survive until their return. Our sorority knows no rank, for we earn our membership with a marriage license, traveling over miles, or over nations to begin a new life with our army husbands.Within days, we turn a barren, echoing building into a home, and though our quarters are inevitably white-walled and unpapered, we decorate with the treasures of our travels, for we shop the markets of the globe.

Using hammer and nail, we tack our pictures to the wall, and our roots to the floor as firmly as if we had lived there for a lifetime. We hold a family together by the bootstraps, and raise the best of "brats" instilling in them the motto, "Home is togetherness", whether motels, or guest house, apartment or duplex. As army wives we soon realize that the only good in Good-bye is the Hello again, for as 'Salesmen for Freedom', our husbands are often on the road, leaving us behind for a week, a month, a year on an assignment. During separations we guard the home front, existing until the homecoming.

Unlike our civilian counterparts, we measure time, not by years, but by tours married at Bragg, a baby born at Knox, a special anniversary at Campbell, a promotion in Heidelberg. We plant trees, and never see them grow tall, work on projects completed long after our departure, and enhance our community for the betterment of those who come after us. We leave a part of ourselves at every stop.Through experience, we have learned to pack a suitcase, a car or hold baggage, and live indefinitely from the contents within and though our fingers are sore from the patches we have sewn , and the silver we have shined, our hands are always ready to help those around us.Women of peace, we pray for a world in harmony, for the flag that leads our men into battle, will also blanket them in death.

Yet we are an optimistic group, thinking of good, and forgetting the bad, cherishing yesterday, while anticipating tomorrow. Never rich by monetary standards, our hearts are overflowing with a wealth of experiences common only to those united by the special tradition of army life. We pass on this legacy to every army bride, welcoming her with outstretched arms, with love and friendship, from one sister to another, sharing in the bounty of our unique, fulfilling army way of life

The kids

Lydia watching Dora for some reason I thought she looked funny in this picture
100 year old Isaac!!!!
Lydia with my new headbands Joel and Tamara got me.....

Lydia with hair extensions and a crown from Greg and Vs house

We had a big week last week, Elijah ran for governor in his class, so we had to make a poster and his had to give a speech. He was really into it. Nathan helped him withe the poster but EVERYTHING was Elijahs idea!!! We are so proud of him, and he did win!!! So we have a Governor Gurely in our house!!! So as Uma said Penn. Ave could be in our future!!!

Then Isaac celebrated his 100th day of school and he had to dress up like he was 100 years old, so that is alittle hard but that picture of him is what we came up with.

Then Lydia has been enjoying watching Dora on the big TV, and playing. Since she has turned 2 its like a new child. She is getting her little personality, and talking more and more everyday!!!

Fun night with the Moores

Nathan and I went out with Lynnie and Buddy one last time, (and our first time without any kids-yippy!!!!!) before Nathan left. We went to dinner and then Nathan wanted to surprise Lynnie and Buddy with a "memory" as Nathan said, of course I couldn't lie to Lynnie when she asked me what we were going to do. So of course Buddy was alittle scared on what Nathan would be taking us to do, he thought maybe we were going to get tatoos!!!! Anyways we had so so much fun and for sure made a memory......Its sad to think we won't have alot of these moments for awhile with Nathan gone.

Nathan taught Lydia to do thumbs down when I ask her something she doesn't want to do, especailly going to bed, and she is talking alot more, so its just little video to show how big she is and the different works she can say, it shows her little personality coming out.....

In the video below Nathan says "I Love you" in different tones, and Lydia copies him, they just started this little thing this week and its so so cute, which its hard to get on video, but I think you can tell how cute they are.....

Before we were going to open, Lydia didn't want to get in the photos...she was sick and not wanting to do much!!

We had our family Christmas once we got back to TN, we had a nice day, the BOYS all played video games ALL DAY it drove me alittle nuts !!! But I will admit we got Dance Revolution and its so much fun, of course Nathan is super good at it so we all want him on our team!!! Isaac got his very own camera, and Elijah got a microscope set.

I will post Isaac's pictures sometime, he loves taking pictures!!!
